Computing
We use technology throughout the school day, from researching to music production.
In Computing we initially recapped on the basic functions of a computer; how to safely turn a device on and off, opening an application, making and saving a document, as well as practicing our typing skills. We also learned how to cut and paste an image into a document.
During the second half of our autumn term we look at systems and how the internet works (including internet safety).
Pupils enjoyed looking at how networks are connected using our 'connecting' activity:
We then moved on to look at how to code in terms of writing our own algorythms and debugging when required. In the summer term we will build on this and fine tune our coding skills to create our own game using more complicated block coding.
In Spring term 2 we learnt about data logging, understanding how devices can be used to record data. We investigated sound during our lessons, logging results on our i-pads and interpreting our results.
Class C will get to become digital photo editors in summer term 1, understanding what websites and applications can be used, learning how images can be altered and the dangers of this. We will finish our topic by making our own digitally altered image.
