Design Technology
'' Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.'' Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, Inc
At Halsall St. Cuthbert's Primary School, design and technology is about ensuring our pupils acquire a broard range of subject knowledge and draw on disciplines such as mathmatics, science, engineering, computing and art. Pupils are encouraged to take risks through drafting design concepts, modelling and testing and evaluating their own work and that of others. Through our DT curriculum, pupils are inspired by engineers, designers, chefs and architects to enable them to create a range of structures, mechanisms, textiles, electrical systems and food products with a real life purpose.
