Art and Design Technology

We love getting creative! 

In Art we will be creating our own sketchbook of work throughout the school year, showcasing artists we have learned about, techniques and our very own artwork.

We will begin the year by looked at Mixed Media Landscapes linking to aboriginal landscapes. We will look at the British artist Vanessa Gardner to gain inspiration and move on to look at Australian artist Albert Noranjina. We will learn about pointillism and the importance of the landscape connected to indengeous aboriginal culture. We will create our own mixed media landscape, inspired by our learning.

In Spring term we dream; big or small. Looking at architectural design, we will create or own minitaure houses inspired by modern themes.

In Summer term we will finish the year by becoming fashion designers. Designing and making our own miniature outfits for our mannequins.

In Design Technology, we will begin by creating Christmas pillows in our textiles topic, making Easter themed festive foods and ending the year, looking at frame structures by making our very own bird houses.
