Art and Design Technology

We love getting creative! 

In Art we will be be creating our own sketchbook of work throughout the school year, showcasing artists we have learned about, techniques and our very own artwork.

In Autumn term 1 we will be looking at the use of multimedia linking to our History topic, we will be creating city scape drawings, paintings and collages based on World War II images of the Battle of Britain. We will take inspiration from the work of the Shoreditch Sketcher. We will also be creating a larger design of a landscape of a poppy field, looking at the work of Vanessa Gardner, to be displayed as an act of rememberance.

In Spring Term 1 we will look at acrchetecture whislt in the Summer Term 1 we will become fashion designers.

In Design we have a range oif exciting projects lined up. In Autumn 1 we will be designing and making our own Chistmas cushions using a range of textiles. In Spring term 2 we will be looking at electrical systems; how they work and using our knowledge to create their own working electrical system using batteries, wirtes, bulbs, switches and more. Lastly, in Summer term 2 we will turn to Food Techonology, disucssing food hygene, preparing and baking our own cakes.
