History

We love learning about the past!

This year we will be expanding on our knowledge of key historical events.

We start the year learning about World War II, creating a timeline of key events whislt looking not only at soldiers and their role in the war, but also understanding the war on the home front. The children will experience what it was like to hear an air raid warning and look in detail at the aircraft involved in the Battle of Britain.

In Spring we turn our attention to the Anglo- Saxons. Learning about their important role in shaping the United Kingdom and their place within British history. We will discuss theur religious beliefs, how they lived and worked and their punitive system.

In Summer term we look at the civilisation of Ancient Greece; we will learn about Greek Gods and Goddesses, learning about democracy and the start of the Olympics.
